In my opinion, many foreigners fail to realise that Germans usually aren't really talking about you when they criticise your work/approach. They're probably solely thinking about the work issue focusing on solving the puzzle, if you will. Let's use the communication square model to help us understand: according to that model, a sender always sends 4 types of messages: factual information, appeal, message about the relationship between sender and receiver, and self-revelation. Many foreigners hear German criticism as a message about the relationship, while Germans are usually more focused on the factual information ("this puzzle piece isn't quite what I need"). So if a German says: "This is wrong", or: "You've missed that", etc., foreigners hear:"I'm dissatisfied with you as a colleague/employee", which is usually not what the German colleague/boss was thinking.

I would say that the UK is better because no deposit for bottels and homeless people are not able to use trains since without a ticket you are not able to board it. And you can cross the road by red as a pedestrian. I did it one in front of a policeman in London and didn't get in trouble. If I'd done this here in Germany, I would've been in trouble.
